CHESHIRE MOULDINGS DOUBLES OUTPUT WITH NEW MOULDING LINE

CHESHIRE MOULDINGS DOUBLES OUTPUT WITH NEW MOULDING LINE

Cheshire Mouldings has doubled its output with a new moulding line featuring a Stenner single centre cutting resaw.

The new moulding line, the third line at Cheshire Mouldings, marks a significant expansion for the St Helens-based business.

The Stenner VHE36 with outfeed sits in front of Weinig moulding technology and System TM handling equipment.

The line, capable of running at speeds of up to 40m per minute, produces small section DIY mouldings in a range of timbers, including pine, oak and light hardwood.

Material is manually fed in to the line, with the Stenner VHE36 splitting the raw material and automatically presenting the timber to the moulder.

Founded in 1988, Cheshire Mouldings manufactures and stocks a complete range of stairparts and timber mouldings, as well as decking and decking accessories.

“The addition of the new line, featuring the Stenner resaw, has enabled us to double capacity because of the efficiencies afforded by the new machinery,” said Cheshire Mouldings’ Jacquie Capper. “Not only that, but our downtime has also been reduced.”

The new line is operating on a nine-hour shift from 8am-5pm but Ms Capper said the company could operate a later shift if the line neared capacity.
